Public Notice – Toilet block demolition at Estuary Beach
The redevelopment of the Lake St Lucia Estuary Precinct is well underway. Ahead of the rainy season and in preparation for the anticipated opening and northward movement of the mouth once good rains fall in the catchment, iSimangaliso will be removing old ablution facilities and casuarinas at the Estuary beach. This, along with the relocation of the vehicle/boat access ramp to its new position at Ingwe Beach, forms part of the complete planned St Lucia Estuary precinct projects for which the Environmental Impact Assessment and Record of Decision are already in place. The projects include upgrades from Sugarloaf campsite to, and including, the St Lucia Ski Boat Club.
The Ingwe beach access ramp has been prepared and will be commissioned shortly. Demolition of the Estuary ablutions and tree removal begins on Monday 11 September and should continue for several weeks. Please exercise caution when walking in the vicinity of the Boardwalk and beach.
