Bursary Application

iSimangaliso Tertiary Education Support Programme

Apply online for bursary support for undergraduate study. Answer the eligibility questions below first — if the programme criteria apply to you, the full application form will appear. Fields marked * are required and attachments must be PDF, JPG, PNG or DOCX files of 10 MB or less.

Eligibility screening

The programme is limited by the criteria below. Please answer honestly — supporting documents are required later in the form.

1. Will you be registering for the first year of undergraduate study at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Zululand, Mangosuthu University of Technology or Durban University of Technology? *

2. Have you applied for (or been awarded) an NSFAS bursary for the study year? *

3. Is your course in a Conservation, Tourism or Development-related programme (including Finance, IT, HR, Engineering, Infrastructure and Supply Chain Management)? *

4. Are you a South African citizen and a member of an iSimangaliso land-claimant community, a resident of uMkhanyakude District Municipality near the Park, or a resident of Mfolozi Local Municipality (Sokhulu area)? *

Based on your answers you do not meet the programme criteria.
The iSimangaliso Tertiary Education Support Programme is only open to first-year students at UKZN, UNIZULU, MUT or DUT who have applied for NSFAS, study in a qualifying field and belong to the Park's land-claimant or neighbouring communities.
